Because our ultimate vision is to have fun and create fair
competition, this year we have formed a Handicap
Committee to oversee MGA members' handicaps. The
MGA sub-committee will assess existing handicaps for
accuracy and bring any perceived "violations" to the Board
to make recommendations for changes. The new panel
consists of the following:

Remember,
Doug, Tony, Paul & Kenny are working for the MGA
membership and will promote fair and consistent handicap

NOTE:
If you suspect anyone of having
an "invalid" handicap and feel that they need to be put
under review, please send an email to the Handicap Committee
and they will determine if further action is required.

MGA
STATEMENT OF STANDARDS
2025
Eagle Watch Men’s Golf Association
Thank you
for your interest in joining the Eagle Watch MGA! This
Association was formed decades ago for the sole purpose of
promoting the game of golf amongst our membership and making it
fun. We sponsor several tournaments yearly along with our
popular Thursday Men’s League- all of which are a blast and
allow for camaraderie amongst our members, memories to be made,
and friendships forged. The EWMGA gives back too! Our annual
Toys for Tots tournament is co-hosted with local Marines and
helps generate several hundred dollars and dozens of toys to be
donated to those that this wonderful organization serves.
Based on
suggestions and commentary that the Board receives every year
and after every event that we sponsor we have decided to
communicate this uniform document to all who join the EWMGA this
year. Our dues are $75. Payment of these dues will constitute
acceptance and understanding of the basic tenants of our group
that are described below. By agreeing to these tenants, you are
also agreeing to being questioned if you were not to abide by
these simple things. As most/all of our events involve entry
fees and prizes the Board (that sponsors these events) is tasked
with the ensuring the integrity of competition to the best of
our ability. We as a group must self- police
to "protect the field" and make the games fun and fair to all
that participate so that the Board is not forced to make
handicap adjustments to any player who chooses not to follow
rules. No one wants that. So here we go:
- All EWMGA events
abide by the rules of golf set forth by the USGA that can
be found here
https://www.usga.org/rules-hub.html. It is the standard
that ALL are playing by these rules. Notable exceptions may
arise when alternative formats or local/tournament rules are
introduced for any specific event and these will be
communicated to all participating. Know the rules, please
ask when you don’t.
- Enter all your scores. Many of us play in tournaments
where NET divisions exist. Handicaps must be accurate and
true for all these NET divisions to be fair for all. Don’t
post Full Scramble, Texas Scramble, or Alternate shot
scores. Every other round played, be it 18 or 9 holes, where
the player is accountable for strokes played should be
recorded for the purposes of maintaining an accurate USGA
handicap. This is for all of us. Home or Away. Tournament or
casual round.
- Police our own
groups. Protect the field. If you witness a rules infraction
during play – whether intentional or not – bring it up as it
happens. Not after the round. This is a game of honor and we
have all agreed to play by the rules.
- Please act with
integrity and class. We are a unique and diverse group of
men. We wish to be a good example of an organization within
our Club.
We are
proud to have the largest Association of our kind in the Club
and most clubs around us. Thank you for helping make our events
enjoyable for all of our membership and being a part of a great
group.

|
Approximately 95% of the time when the weather is bad or
forecasted to be bad, we will call the round prior to
anyone teeing off. For those one-off times when
the weather turns quickly while we are playing, MGA
Board members will get on a group text and determine if
we should keep playing or not. If the consensus is to
halt play, we will blow an "Air Horn" signaling that
play has ended. Five (5) or more holes completed will get
you 2 points but we WILL NOT pay out any winners
unless 60% or more of the field has turned in a score
card. If you sign up to play, you agree and accept
these terms. |

AUDITING PROCESS
Incorrect posting or not
posting of Best Ball (BB) scores for any reason will
result in (Gross & Net players):
1)
Loss of 2 points
2)
No money (you may be asked to return
ANY prize money you won)
3)
Immediate movement to the wait list for the
next time you play
There will be no more warnings.
The score/posting will be checked on Monday Morning
following the Thursday night league. BB scores should
be posted NO LATER THAN SUNDAY @ MIDNIGHT. The
auditing committee has full authority on administering
penalties and will review every case independently.
This is a
simple process for everyone as it protects the field and
makes the game fair and equitable for every NET & GROSS
